Deus in Adjutorium

Deus in Adjutorium
(Lat. "God come to my assistance," Psalm 70)
   Versicle that opens all the divine offices of the Roman Catholic rite with the exception of matins, where it follows directly on other opening prayers. The lesser doxology (Gloria patri . . .) follows.
